A surprising phenomenon as shown by the case of sudden death of this teenager, relayed by the US channel Fox News.
As reported by our colleagues Le Figaro , sudden death makes more than 40,000 victims each year in France. Most premature deaths are due to cardiac arrest.
The causes of death sudden cardiac youth vary. Most often, death is due to a cardiac abnormality. For various reasons, the heart beats badly. This abnormal heart rhythm is called ventricular fibrillation.
Specific causes of sudden cardiac death in youth include:
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (MHC): In this condition , usually hereditary, the walls of the heart muscle thicken. The thickness of the muscle can disrupt the heart’s electrical system, causing rapid or irregular heartbeat that can lead to death.
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: This abnormal structure of the heart cell is the most common cause of sudden death in people under 40 years of age.
Long QT syndrome: This disorder of inherited heart rhythm can cause rapid and chaotic beating of heart, often leading to fainting. Young people with long QT syndrome also have an increased risk of sudden death.
These various anomalies are not always detected and are discovered
A new victim of sudden death among young people
It is a nightmare for all parents to send their children to school and something bad happens to them.
Josh Gray, 17, went to the Dawson High School nurse’s office in Pearland after a stomach ache. Two hours later, the teenager, who was a healthy and active young man, had died.
After the autopsy, the doctors said the artery leading to Josh’s pancreas had broken down, as well as the organ itself because of an undetectable genetic disease. The haemorrhage could not be stopped and the teenager died.
Before his untimely death, Josh was planning a humanitarian trip. He was appreciated by all for his ability to see the best in others.
A gesture of kindness in Josh’s memory
Josh’s family has created a fundraising page to cover the costs of his sudden death. Part of their fundraising was reserved for research and treatment of rare underlying diseases. The page in question had managed to raise more than 35,000 dollars (about 31,000 euros).
This sudden loss shows how precious life is and how important it is to take full advantage of one’s loved ones, to create many memories with them. Life is hanging by a thread and as Henri-Frédéric Amiel says so well: “In life every moment passes without return, profit! “
