An old baking soda cure for healthy weight loss

Losing weight can be difficult for some people, which can discourage them from doing more. Fortunately, combined with healthy eating and physical activity, these baking soda recipes can help you lose weight.

Baking soda soothes indigestion by neutralizing the acids in the stomach . In addition, it promotes the detoxification of the body and provides a feeling of  satiety , which reduces the amount of  food  consumed and therefore the number of calories. Interestingly, weight loss occurs when you create an energy deficit or eat fewer calories than you burn.

How to use baking soda?

We present two recipes where you can use baking soda to stimulate the process of weight loss.

Apple cider vinegar and baking soda

Mixing  cider vinegar  with baking soda provides an effective combination to improve digestion, burn fat and lose weight.

Acetic acid, present in apple cider vinegar, can promote weight loss in several ways. According to an   animal study published in the  British Journal of Nutrition , acetic acid in apple cider vinegar could promote weight loss by lowering blood sugar and cholesterol levels. In another   Japanese study , acetic acid showed an increase in the enzyme AMPK, which stimulates fat burning and reduces the production of fats and sugars in the liver.


  • A cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon of baking soda

Instructions :

In a cup of water, mix apple cider vinegar and baking soda and mix well. To be consumed fasting before breakfast.

Lemon juice and baking soda

Lemon juice combined with baking soda can be a powerful blend to speed up weight loss.

Lemon juice contains ingredients that help maintain a healthy weight. The first constituent is ascorbic acid or vitamin C of lemon. In a  study  published in  Journal of Nutrition , blood levels of vitamin C were tested in 118 men and women participating in the study, overweight people with larger waistlines had significantly lower levels of vitamin C. The researchers also reported that people with sufficient blood levels of vitamin C break down more fat during exercise.

Lemon is also a good source of hesperetin, an antioxidant flavonoid. According to a  study published in  Genes and Nutrition , when laboratory rats adopted a high-fat diet, rats that consumed hesperetin gained significantly less weight than rats that did not receive the antioxidant.


  • A cup of water
  • Juice  lemon
  • ½ teaspoon of baking soda

Instructions :

In a glass of water, add the baking soda. Stir well until baking soda is completely dissolved. Then add the lemon juice. This mixture must be consumed on an empty stomach. Then after 20-30 minutes you can have breakfast.

Caution :

These recipes are not recommended for people who have kidney or biliary disorders or who suffer from heartburn, ulcers, as well as people with citrus allergies. Similarly, they are contraindicated in pregnant women. In case of doubt, take the advice of your doctor.
