8 things your eyes are trying to tell you about your health

Have you ever wondered why your vision is blurry after a very tiring day? Or maybe you’ll notice sometimes that your whites become irritated and red. Every organ in our body has this ability to emit alarm signals. Your eyes are one of those organs that give off visible signs. These signs can say a lot about your health.

1. Orgelet

Styes, also called external hordoles, are far from attractive or pleasing. If you have had the misfortune to end up with one, then you should consider this:

A stye is formed because of a blocked sebaceous gland causing a benign bacterial infection of the pilosebaceous follicle. It usually disappears in a few days, but if it stays there longer or if it reproduces, it can indicate a carcinoma of the sebaceous glands (malignant tumor). If an antibacterial treatment does not cure your stye, it is high time to consult your doctor.

2. Eyebrow loss

Eyebrows, like all body hair, have a natural life cycle that consists of growing, aging and falling – then they are replaced by other new hairs without noticing it.

However, the rapid loss of hair in the eyebrows may indicate several reasons. The most common reason is stress, aging or nutrient deficiency or alopecia areata (an autoimmune disorder that occurs when the immune system attacks the hair follicles of one’s own body), although this rarely occurs.

The loss of the eyebrows may also indicate a deficiency of hormone production by the thyroidgland  , called hypothyroidism. Whatever the reason, it is recommended to consult your doctor.

3. Eyes bulging (exophthalmos)

We all had moments where our eyes seemed to betray us. We rub them or clap several times, and our vision seems to become clear again. But if you constantly feel some kind of expansion in your eyes, it can be a symptom of an eye disease of the thyroid. This means that your thyroid is overactive.

The difficulty in closing the eyes is one of the symptoms that can cause swelling. This occurs in 30% of cases, so consult your doctor if this sensation lasts a long time.

4. Blurred vision

Blurred vision is widespread today. This can happen after prolonged exposure to digital screens. Doctors have even attributed a special term to this disease, “computer vision syndrome” (eye-eye disorder).

If you have blurred vision, consult your eye doctor.

5. Tasks in the field of vision

Tasks that appear in your field of vision can be scary. They may be in the form of black or gray dots, sparks, small stars, or zigzag lines … and may indicate a migraine with aura (this is when migraine is accompanied by neurological disorders most often order visual).

As a general rule, these spots last about 50 to 60 minutes and are followed by a headache, although this is not always the case.

If this happens to you, it is recommended to consult your doctor immediately. Sometimes these spots can indicate much more serious diseases.

6. Impaired vision or loss of vision

Any change of vision is a warning that requires immediate response. If you notice that your vision is suddenly altered, darkened, or if it disappears for a moment, seek help immediately. This can be part of the symptoms that may indicate a  stroke .

7. Whites of the eyes turn yellow

It’s hard not to notice a yellow-eyed whiteness that most often indicates jaundice, hepatitis, bile duct obstruction, cirrhosis and other diseases of the liver or blood.

It is not necessary to say it because you would certainly even without it, but it is extremely important to consult your doctor.

8. Vision disorder with diabetes

Diabetes can seriously affect the health of your eyes. If you have diabetes and your vision starts to have trouble, you may have diabetic retinopathy. It is a condition caused by damaged blood vessels in the photosensitive tissue of the retina.

You must take this problem seriously and quickly consult a specialist. In addition, it is important to follow a strict diet for diabetics , especially if you are at this stage.
